Performance of Identities: The Emergence of the Self through the Practice of Voice and Remembering
Join us at the public opening of Lucija Ivšić's final PhD exhibition, Performance of Identities: The Emergence of the Self through the Practice of Voice and Remembering at SensiLab and MADA Gallery (Monash University) on Friday 19 July from 6-9 pm.
This exhibition presents the culmination of Lucija's PhD research, exploring the intersection of identity, memory, and sense of belonging through technology and artistic practice. It features three core works: What Homes are Made of: The Architecture of Displacement, an interactive VR experience; Laser Echoes, a series of large-scale photographs captured with a high-precision terrestrial laser scanner; and Transhuman Ansambl, a novel interactive technological choir of 16 singers that exists both as a standalone sound installation and as an accompanying choir for human performers. On this opening night, Lucija will also perform the latest musical composition she has co-created with the virtual singers of the Ansambl.
