Join us for a screening of the Documentary on the designing of the Pride Centre with the Architects James Brearley, Grant Amon, Steve Witford and filmmakers Toby Reed and Anna Nervegna.

Victorian Pride Centre – Spaces of Becoming

This documentary focuses on the architectural processes behind the design of the Victorian Pride Centre by Brearley Architects + Urbanists (BAU) and Grant Amon Architects (GAA). The architects were filmed over a number of years during the design and construction of the iconic building, the first purpose-built Pride Centre in Australia and one of the first in the world. The documentary explores the ideas and concepts, both theoretical and formal, investigated by the architects in order to create the building and spaces. Key people involved in the project and the movement behind the creation of the project are interviewed, along with several key architectural critics and theoreticians involved in the debates surrounding the project.
