Join us for a book launch at the Victorian Pride Centre.

In conjunction with the recent release of KA ME RA Modern Japanese Architecture Through The Photographer's Lens, which is a combination of photobook, history and historiography tracing developments and key figures shaping our images of understanding of architecture in Japan, join us for broad discussions about architectural photography, its producers and its implications.

Participants

Professor Ari Seligmann (Department of Architecture, Monash University) is a critic, historian and designer engaged in studies of contemporary architecture and urbanism, Japanese architecture, and relations between architecture and media. His current work explores the role of photography within the discursive construction of architecture. He is a regular contributor to the Society of Architectural Historians, Australia and New Zealand, with a suite of studies on the historiography of Japanese architecture.

Peter Bennetts is an experienced Melbourne-based, global-roaming architectural photographer whose work consistently appears in key Australian magazines and books as well as internationally acclaimed publications.
