Camilo Cruz Gambardella
Dr Camilo Cruz Gambardella
Dr. Camilo Cruz Gambardella is a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Future Building Initiative (FBI) lab and SensiLab.
Camilo's research sits on the intersection of design theory and computation, and his main areas of investigation focus on the development of new computational generative and evolutionary methods and tools to support the creative process in architectural design. Camilo is currently leading a CRC-Funded project looking at leveraging state of the art AI and ML techniques to incorporate soft design constraints and requirements into the digital design pipeline. Before coming to Monash University, Camilo spent six years researching and teaching topics that sit in the intersection design and computation at The University of Melbourne and The University of Chile. Prior to that, he also served as a visualisation artist and architectural designer in Toronto and Santiago.
Camilo holds an Architecture degree (BArch + Professional Masters) from P. U. Catolica (Chile), a Master of urban Design from the University of Toronto and a PhD in Architecture and Computational Design from The University of Melbourne.
