Professional recognition
Monash University’s Bachelor of Communication Design is recognised by the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) , the peak industry body representing Australian design and designers domestically and internationally.
Studio based learning
Our interdisciplinary studio-based course will give you the knowledge, skills and capability to create imaginative and effective solutions and design new possibilities whilst developing your collaborative skills.

Hands-on studios
Half of your studies will take place in the studio – a hands-on, creative environment where you’ll be working side-by-side with your peers under the direction of our award winning designers and industry professionals. The studio is equal parts “design thinking” and “design making”. It’s not just about creating work that looks good, but making a real contribution to visual culture, social engagement and economic futures.

Overseas programs
Immerse yourself in a vibrant culture, expand your global network and make lasting memories. Design students have the opportunity to participate in travelling studios. Travelling with staff and fellow students in small groups, you’ll follow a set curriculum working on industry projects and visiting partner institutions. You’ll also have some time free to see the sights.
