Giosuè Prochilo
Giosuè Prochilo is a Lecturer and Unit Coordinator in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Monash University. He has taught across the Bachelor of Communication Design and Master of Design programs for over 14 years, specialising in brand identity, typography, narrative, motion design, audiovisual communication and new technologies.
His teaching integrates industry-readiness within broader communication and motion design contexts, exploring how contemporary design frameworks shape meaning across platforms and audiences. He guides students to understand design not only as sensory output, but as a structured process shaped by culture, technology, and psychology. His approach emphasises strategic thinking, systems awareness, ethical practice, and adaptability in rapidly evolving creative industries.
He has conducted doctoral-level research at the intersection of experience design, psychology, and immersive communication, examining how symbolic structures including ritual, influence perception and wellbeing. This research continues to inform his teaching and professional practice.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Giosuè has worked as a senior designer and brand strategist on major national and international projects, including roles within globally recognised branding teams including at Interbrand. He currently also directs EX-ZERŌ, an independent studio focused on strategic brand development and organisational alignment in the context of technological and cultural change.
Beyond academia and professional practice, he is the songwriter, producer, and vocalist for Arc of Sun, a Melbourne-based art-rock project exploring immersive, multi-sensory storytelling through sound and visual form.
Across teaching, research, and industry practice, his work reflects an ongoing interest in how creativity shapes cultural meaning and contributes to responsible, future-oriented practice.
