Dr Tanvi Maheshwari

Dr Tanvi Maheshwari is an architect and urban designer, and currently a research fellow in the Informal Cities Lab at Monash University. Her research modality is primarily collaborative and transdisciplinary, operationalised through impact based action research projects, employing digital planning support tools, futures studies, scenario thinking and co-design methods.

Tanvi's doctoral research explored the impact of new transportation technologies such as vehicle automation on the built environment. She is currently a co-investigator for 'Adaptive Mobility, Infrastructure and Land Use' project at Future Cities Laboratory, Singapore-ETH Centre. Her research interests include mobility planning and design, heuristic modelling and simulation, urban transformation processes, and transformative action research.

Prior to her appointment at Monash, Tanvi was the Associate Director for Research at Future Cities Laboratory, Singapore-ETH Centre. She has previously worked at Synthicity and Autodesk Inc conducting user researcher for the development of planning support tools. She also co-founded arch i Platform in India, a nonprofit organisation for research and practice in sustainable development.
