Thang Do, Industrial Series
This series investigated the most common material from graphic design - paper and industrial design - metal, and combined them anatomically. The combination resulted in a unique silhouette that proves graphic design can be integrated and become part of the identity of other products on display.
Thang Do, Landscape Series
The Landscape Series, exhibited at the PIPES gallery during the second semester, embraced the organic and asymmetrical shapes found in nature. The objects did not only provide a platform or supporting stand to the plants, but also embodied novel assembly techniques that change the way we think about the capability of paper three dimensionally.
Thang Do, Lighting Series
Having not technically trained to work with lighting as well as programming them, I utilised the passiveness of paper in casting shadow and blocking lights to create interactions and moving patterns. The die cuts casting shadow on the object was inspired by stage design in the fashion industry where dynamic lighting and minimal setting are employed frequently.
