It was necessary to embrace elaborateness as I explored one of the most expensive films ever made. For a story that was lived so long ago, it feels wondrously alive. I felt it was important to acknowledge the spiritual symbols and geometry of the actual time period. In order to re-imagine the story and film, I also felt it was crucial to clash these with vibrant colours and real materials from the present. I aim to enchant and entice you into a story that is thousands of years old, yet it survives in this very moment.
