I look at the world and I notice it's turning' takes inspiration from a specific location, decaying concrete war fortifications existing amongst the sand dunes of Australian town Point Lonsdale. The fortifications were used in World War 2 when Australia was under threat of attack by the Japanese. Now abandoned, the shelters have become a place for townspeople to watch the sunset. Below the concrete fortifications exists another kind of shelter, makeshift huts of plywood are scattered along the beach, a means for the chicks of the endangered bird, the Hooded Plover, to obtain refuge during breeding season.
