This series is informed by the theories of Gilles Deleuze in his writings on the Baroque and the Fold. Deleuze suggests that the Baroque transcends the restrictions of a time period and fluctuates throughout history to the present.
The Baroque with it's immersive, vibrant, excessiveness and material manipulation are what captures my attention. The pixel sorting adds a level of distortion into the baroque images that already address ideas around transformation. Through programming technologies, I create glitched effects over my photographs as well as mimicking the same aesthetic within my oil paintings.
