These works explore themes of control, truth and escape by capturing those unexpected moments, blips and actions that happen by chance and are often beyond my control. With this comes an interest in exploring the intersections between my thoughts and the thoughts of those around me. This work examines how the power to influence people's behavior, or the course of events, can form the basis for how one goes about their life. Original egocentric images created via different mediums, including drawing, photography and text, were distorted and enlarged using low-fi photocopying and scanning techniques, to create new images and abstract patterning for fabric and paper sculptural works. New imagery appears non-distinguishable, visually and metaphorically unattainable and misunderstood. Printed materials are draped, wrapped and folded to move through and define space, overall creating unstable territory for the viewer.
