Channelling the idea of ‘portals’ and the unknown, I attempt to extend the act of looking in order to encourage the reflection of themes regarding time, mortality and perception. My works characteristically include the implication of a disappearing hole that is subject to the viewers’ interpretation of what lies beyond the darkness. Through my works, I promote the discipline of lingering one’s gaze to expand the visual perception of subjects that are often overlooked.
