Somin is currently working with Doyoung Lim as a collaborative duo. They have been making choreography that is not necessarily ‘dance’ or paired with forms of music but rather choreographs of natural movement. This exploration of movement has been extending to surrogate objects for human bodies as a way of introducing different ways of moving in space. The works are often a reflection on the modern-day experience which is indirect and vicarious especially in this day of technological consumption. While the environment and process are relatively controlled the role of the director, performer and audience become blurred when an individual enters the controlled space.
