Timothy Harrison
Hi my name is Tim, I am a designer and maker. It is important that the products we design take responsibility and consider their entire life cycle. Materials are often deemed waste, when really their use is just unidentified. I am a keen cook and fermenter at home and this is what lead me to food waste.
Project Description:
Re-Grain is a response to the incredible amount of food that is wasted in Australia. Of the food that is wasted bread is thrown away in vast quantities. Organisations like OzHarvest don't have a use or need for bread either. Re-Grain takes bread waste and turns it into 3D printed planters. Another part of the project is working with dis-engaged youth as part of the CoMake program, Re-Grain provides a platform for CoMake participants to learn 3D printing, CAD modelling and other skills for their future work.
