Liam Binns

Liam Binns is a keen furniture designer/maker, pursuing industrial design and furniture design in his future career. His passion for design extends from ideation all the way to production ensuring he is there for all stages of the design process. His career goal is to work as a designer and maker, allowing his design work to come to life.

Liam Binns, The Legacy Side Table

The Legacy is modular, allowing the desk to be set up in three different positions. The top drawer unit is removeable from the drawer sides, which slide outwards to allow the top drawer to slot in between producing a full sized desk.

The Legacy Desk is designed to transition through different phases of a person’s life, through their family and passed on through generations.

Liam Binns, Locking Fixtures

Machined from brass, a custom fitting is used to lock the desk together. The slot in the head of the screw is wide enough for 10c and 20c coin to fit in, allowing the user to assemble the Legacy desk without the need for any tools.

Liam Binns, Half-Lap Handles

The handles on the outside of the trunk/side table also have a secondary purpose. These handles are angled to fit within the side table interiors, allowing it to hang seamlessly. This hides all joinery from the user and allows for easy set up.
