Yushang Ruan, SitClock Smart Chair, MAYA Model
It is the MAYA model of my project: a smart chair can help students and office workers reduce sedentary behaviour. It designed a saddle type seat, two platforms supporting knees on both sides. When people sit down, the angle of their body and legs is reduced from 90 to half with will reduce the burden on knees, feet and back. The base of the chair will made of wood, the seat and knee supporting paddles will be covered with sponge to make users more comfortable.
Yushang Ruan, SitClock Smart Chair, Mockup Perspective
It is the functional prototype of SitClock Chair. A Flex sensor under the seat which can detect if users are sitting on it. Two servo motors were put inside and connect with two knee supporting paddles. When users have a long time sitting, two paddles will rotate to vertical degrees to motivate users stand up and move.
