Elena Feist is a German born immigrant. She has lived in Australia for the last 12 years, but still feels her German roots very strongly. Throughout University she has taken a keen interest in glass, being intrigued by its materiality and omnipresence in people’s lives. She draws upon the deeply personal to begin each artwork, with the intention of reworking this initial spark into something that can be viewed by and interest a wide audience. Her works have their own magnetism, and the ability to pull the viewer into the glass’ microcosm.
