Mietta Stoeckli draws upon a wide body of research examining symbology, movement and natural form, considering the ways that we may relate to these concerns in spatial installation. She endeavours to explore the assumed opposition between the transcendent and the earthbound, idealism and materialism, and seeks to highlight the tension point between these presumed binaries. A reverence for nature as the ultimate sculptor lies at the heart of her practice.
