As a mixed race person of colour I am interested in the way race and power function together. My videos work with my body in relation to projected still and moving images, working with family photos, self portraits, shadows and projected footage of various landscapes. Within my video work I am specifically concerned with belonging, gender, class and power within the context of Australia, gathering knowledge from my own lived experiences and theoretical research. I endeavour to subvert and reimagine current racialised and classed realities in Australia and globally to illustrate an aspirational and optimistic alternative to our current realities.
