For my capstone project I decided to design an application to reduce the food wasted unconsciously at our homes, in our refrigerators. ‘Re-Fridge’ will help users keep track of their items in their fridge and provide the optimal place for storage. It also suggests recipes based off the ingredients on your refrigerator and many more functionalities.

Gayathri Muthalagu, Re-Fridge: Presentation Board
Re-Fridge is an application that helps users reduce food waste that is unconsciously wasted in the refrigerator. One of the causes for this type of action is that we often misplace the items in our refrigerator. i.e. We are not aware of the specific place and spaces for each item. This may lead to it going bad before reaching its maximum shelf life. This can be reduced by using Re-Fridge. Re-Fridge provides the right spot and way to store all items which helps it reach the maximum shelf-life.
Choose the type of refrigerator you have (Top mount, bottom mount, french door, side-by-side) and Re-Fridge keeps track of all the items in your refrigerator and provides the optimal place and way of storage for longer life. This is useful because each type of refrigerator may have different shelves for storing. Updates you on the expired and leftover items. Re-Fridge also suggests recipes off of the ingredients on your refrigerator. These recipes can be seen and sorted by veg, no-veg, vegan, gluten-free or desserts.

Re-Fridge – The User-flow of the application along with the wireframe. The initial testing was done with this low-fidelity prototype.
Gayathri Muthalagu, 3d Model-Robot
A 3d model of a robot (Gee-3) that is modelled like a little tin man. The environment, model, lights and animation was done using Maya. The images were rendered using arnold rendered for a realistic look. The character model and the different views were done in Illustrator and then modelled in Maya. The texture materials were created in Maya.
