I am Junyuan Huang. You can call me John. I am a UI/UX designer passionate about discovering users' needs and constantly exploring better solutions. In my opinion, understanding the purpose of projects is important but difficult. People are not always aware of their own inner needs for digital products. In other words, they may not realize that a mobile application can provide them with more convenience or solve their problems through the clever use of new or old technology. Hence, I'm also passionate about discovering or learn something different and new. I might get inspiration from them to make work better and creative.

B-ripe is an app for home planters or gardeners, aiming to make planting easier. It can provide an effective daily plant care plan or useful growing tips for each user based on the plants' requirement, local weather information, growing environment and monitoring data. Users can get a cooperation plan through add participators.

Junyuan Huang, Weather app for Harley-Davidson

This is a weather app for Harley-Davidson users. Harley-Davidson is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1903, whose mission is 'more than building machines, we stand for the timeless pursuit of adventure. Freedom for the soul.' Based on the company's characteristics, the graphical element is a motorcyclist rides his motorbike on the slope in different weather conditions. Users can check the real-time temperature, weather, wind, AQI, UV index, humidity and precipitation, essential for motorcyclists. In addition, it is a cross-platform weather app, which adapts to mobile, watch or tablet platforms. I have made some changes to the layout and flow of the apps for each platform to suit different platforms better.

Junyuan Huang, HIP-HOP FESTIVAL

This app is for a hip-hop festival which includes useful functions for event participant. Users can check view activity information (time, location, guide map and line up) or purchase ticket or merchandises. In addition, because of the nature of hip-hop music, they can listen to music before they attend or get real-time lyrics when they are there.

Junyuan Huang, Unicorn Energy Dashboard Redesign

The work is for the electric company. The clients can find or analyse their energy usage data, such as energy consumption trends or outdoor temperature fluctuations. The proposed design is to be iterated across two different screen sizes for smartphone application (for tenants) and desktop website dashboard (for building managers).
