Riya Rajivkumar Doshi
Hello there! I am Riya, a digital product designer originally from India, now based in Melbourne. I am experienced in delivering fully functional UX/UI designs for digital market. My goal is to design the unusual and unthinkable in terms of the interface of any product.
For my capstone project I decided to design an app that will work in a pair. The app will have a host and a learner which will be me and my mother, respectively. The app downloaded in my phone will be host’s version and learner’s version on my mother’s phone. I will control the screens and functions she will see while using this app on her phone. This app will firstly and most importantly help her to remember to carry her phone everywhere with her. And secondly, it will help her to learn to use her phone independently by trying out daily tasks that I design and send to her phone regularly.
For the UI, I wanted to give her something to look back on, something she can feel is her own, so I added a few glimpses of her life through black and white pictures to remind her of her time back then. The overall aesthetic of the UI is inspired from her hobby ‘DIY art and craft’ translated through collage.
Therefore I was determined to design an app that is in her mother tongue along with using little English to make it comfortable for her to use and learn alongside.

Riya Rajivkumar Doshi, Pop-in Music Festival App - Overview
Pop-in music festival app was created to enhance pre, onsite and post music festival experience. This app will help pop music lovers to view the schedule of the festival, alleviate the pain in planning their festival weekend ahead and booking various onsite activities. Furthermore, it attempts to improve digital ticket purchasing for people who love to collect ticket stubs and keep them as souvenirs.
