I initially designed of a fitness app, but then was tasked to giving it a complete makeover. Embracing the Abstract Minimalism style, I set out to create a UI that exuded minimalistic charm and artistic vibes. Starting with a Moodboard, I explored various design styles and simplified the overall look. Geometric shapes, a sleek two-toned colour palette, and vibrant pops of colour were the key ingredients that brought the UI to life. To maintain consistency, I crafted a Style Tile that guided the design process. The end result? A user-friendly and visually captivating UI that perfectly complemented the app's core features.
Aayushi Parmar, Monash Social Life - Team Work
Our research on Monash students' social life revealed scattered event information across platforms, making event tracking difficult. Club committees faced similar challenges. To tackle this, we developed a unified platform with an organiser backend and integrated Monash Event micro app. I contributed to the visually appealing UI design of the organisers' dashboard, ensuring easy access to all major functions and information. The platform showcased AI-generated event posters and facilitated both physical and digital interaction. Campus posters were AR-activated, enhancing the immersive event registration experience for students.

In addition to my contribution to the UI design of the dashboard, two team members focused on prototyping and creating interactive features. Our video demonstrates the seamless process of creating an event using the AI feature, highlighting its simplicity and user-friendly nature. The overall design of the dashboard, with its minimalist and visually engaging UI, effectively supports the goal of providing an intuitive experience. We successfully achieved our objective of making the event creation process easy and accessible, even for new users.

As a team, we designed a user-friendly interface for AirSticks, a device that turns movement into music. Our goal was to create an enjoyable experience for professionals and beginners. Through innovative design and simplified interactions, we ensured easy navigation and clarity. I focused on designing the 3D static screen with multiple settings, a challenge in terms of limited space. However, I successfully made it accessible and visually intuitive. The final UI exceeded client expectations, granting all users access to advanced features. Improved navigation and enhanced information display enhance the overall user experience.

I had an interesting task to design a captivating poster inspired by the iconic Art Deco era and its magnificent architecture. After thorough research, I selected 'The Bryant Park Hotel' as the focal point and incorporated two carefully chosen colours to evoke the essence of the era. With a detailed line drawing of the building, thoughtfully selected typography, and creative composition, my aim was to transport viewers to a bygone era and immerse them in the glamour and intricate details of Art Deco. The final poster exudes a sense of sophistication and luxury, achieved through a striking black and gold colour scheme.
