Aishcharya Mario Kahandawala, Gardenheart
The Gardenheart was a spherical lamp and accompanying mobile app prototype that would help hobbyist gardeners take care of their plants by monitoring the environment of their plants and communicate the well-being of these plants to the user by changing the colour of the lamp. More detailed data on the plants' status was made available through the companion app.
Aishcharya Mario Kahandawala, Somnus
In this project, we designed and prototyped an app for behaviour change - in this case, improving sleeping habits. We conducted preproduction research (comparative analysis, persona, journey mapping, storyboarding, etc.) to define the app's visual style and how it would function. The final solution was a mobile app that helps users improve their sleep quality by portioning their day into daily activity groups, and by providing wind-down routines to help slow their activities and prepare them for a better night's rest.
Aishcharya Mario Kahandawala, Diego's
In this project, we needed to create a mobile app for a small business of our choice. I chose a Peri-Peri chicken restaurant from Sri Lanka called Diego's. I revisited and redesigned this UI after my first attempt and came up with a more cohesive and appealing design language inspired by Portuguese azulejo tiles.
Aishcharya Mario Kahandawala, Alethis
This project brief asked us to create a product brochure for a futuristic smartphone. My response was Alethis, a smartphone and an accompanying contact lens wearable that would help the user identify fake news and verify information in an increasingly unreliable information landscape.
Aishcharya Mario Kahandawala, Rosalin Symbol Design
In this project, we were asked to create a symbol for a personal belonging of significance. I chose my guitar, named "Rosalin", as my object of choice and created a symbol that represented the themes and emotions that I associated with the object. The symbol represents the themes of music and stress relief, radiating out of the sun and creating the form of the guitar, so that the sun and its rays became the soundhole and the guitar body, respectively.
