Freya Fan, 'Monash Course Connect'
Introducing Polaris Studio's revamped web platform, designed to elevate the course selection experience for Monash students! Our team observed several obstacles faced by students, including difficulties comprehending specialized terminology, disorganized content, and the need to navigate multiple platforms. To address these issues, we drew inspiration from travel guides and completely overhauled the visual elements. By comparing a student's academic journey at Monash to a life journey, our aim is to simplify the process of reaching desired.
Freya Fan, Seoul Station
Introducing the UI upgrade project for Seoul Station, a Korean street hot dog snack bar! The new design adopts a flat design style, creating an illusion of 3D shapes using flat lines. I simplified the screen by removing unnecessary wireframes and incorporated white space to enhance section visibility. Subtle adjustments were made to icons and fonts for a better overall aesthetic. By emphasizing the images themselves, the functional areas are clearly separated, with the hot dog as the focal point. Additionally, each page features a character, adding interest while maintaining a cohesive design style. Get ready for an engaging and visually pleasing experience!
Freya Fan, Rainbow Serpent Festival
The Rainbow Serpent festival involved designing a logo and visual systems for merchandise. It is a multi-day music, art, lifestyle, and cultural event held in the Pyrenees since 1998. Over the years, it has become an internationally recognized celebration of dance, color, expression, storytelling, and unity. The logo, inspired by the Yin-Yang diagram, features two embracing snakes symbolizing the festival's harmonious atmosphere and fostering new friendships. The brand photography captures the festival's cultural environment and joyful interactions between people, highlighting their happy expressions.
Freya Fan, White Night
In 2019, Melbourne underwent a captivating transformation for the inaugural "White Nights Reinvented" event. Spanning three consecutive nights from August 22 to 24, the city burst to life with an array of art installations, captivating performances, and an expanded program of tantalizing food and mesmerizing music. The design concept drew inspiration from the vibrant neon lights that illuminate the White Nights Festival, evoking the sensation of cutting through the darkness of the night with a radiant glow. The poster itself showcases detailed architectural illustrations that capture the essence and unique character of Melbourne, immersing viewers in the city's captivating atmosphere.

Freya Fan, 'Resort'
Australia generates 74 million tonnes of waste, with only 60% being recycled. The confusion and information overload surrounding recycling contribute to improper disposal and recyclable material ending up in landfills. Our solution, the ReSort bin, simplifies recycling. It looks like a regular street bin but has sections for plastic, metal, paper, and glass. AI technology ensures proper waste sorting. Any items missed by AI are manually sorted later. Simply deposit your rubbish, and the bin takes care of the rest!
