Gengye(Gary) He, 'Course Connect - Course Planning Tools of Monash Uni'
Course Connect is a web-based tool designed to help Monash University students plan their course schedule. It offers a centralised location to browse through all degree requirements, select courses of interest, and use an intelligent course mapping tool for efficient planning.
Our design proposal is based on in-depth research with Monash students, which helped identify pain points with the current course selection system. We addressed these issues by eliminating the need to navigate multiple platforms, clarifying course selection rules, and identifying eligible courses.

Gengye(Gary) He, 'Fireflies Forest - Interactive design of exhibition hall gaming equipment'
Fireflies Forest is an interactive exhibition hall with a forest theme. You can use a bug-catching device and a mobile app to catch virtual fireflies and enjoy the beauty of nature. You can catch fireflies with a net and view them in a glass jar on the app. You can also invite friends to join you in catching fireflies. After collecting 100 fireflies, the app will prompt you to release the fireflies in exchange for a commemorative jar as a reward.
We programmed it through the Arduino circuit board and connected it to the interactive prototype made with Protopie, achieving a small exhibition hall model.

Gengye(Gary) He, ZAOZUO App - UI Design of Furniture Brand App
ZAOZUO is a young Chinese fashion furniture brand known for its exceptional "design aesthetics" and "exquisite quality". I designed a set of interfaces of mobile e-commerce app for ZAOZUO
The UI style of the App combines flat minimalism and 3D texture. Using a minimalist magazine-style layout and some simple visual gradient elements, it highlights the product itself as the main focus.
As an industrial design product, furniture emphasizes materials, colors, and shapes. Therefore, in UI design, the industrial minimalist style also needs to highlight the details of the furniture, so that users are more attracted to the furniture itself rather than other interface elements.
Gengye(Gary) He, CENTRE POMPIDOU App - AR Guider for exhibition
The aim of this project is to help users enhance their visiting experience at the Pompidou Art Centre through a smartphone app that features AR navigation and audio introductions to the art pieces.
Visitors can use the AR map navigation within the app to follow specific tour routes while visiting exhibitions. They can also view video explanations of each artwork within the app. Furthermore, they can access themed Instagram pages through hotspots on the art pieces and share photos of themselves with the artwork.
Gengye(Gary) He, KIKI Kitchen Robot - Auto Ingredients Preparation Robot
To assist people in the kitchen, I have designed a kitchen robot called KIKI. The KIKI can help with the ingredient preparation process. Simply place the ingredients in a tray that supports multiple ingredient preparation methods, choose a recipe, and let the robot do the work.
Using ethnography research methods, I analyzed three insights: 1) Ingredient preparation takes too much time; 2) Space and containers are needed for prepared ingredients; 3) Interacting with a screen while cooking is difficult.
It is these insights that led me to design KIKI to be a multi-functional kitchen robot that helps with ingredient preparation, storage, and cooking.
