Simpson Wan
As a designer, I am passionate about new technology and understanding people's needs. I believe they are the keys to solving real-world problems and leaving a positive and lasting impact. With every project, I aspire to seek opportunities to further develop my skills, while continuing to learn how to bring designs to life and how to make digital experiences more enjoyable. I enjoy working in dynamic environments where idea-sharing, experimentation, and fun are encouraged because I think they are the catalysts to foster an atmosphere for creativity and innovation.

Simpson Wan, MindSpace
A lot of university students are struggling to keep a good balance between work, study and their personal life. They worry and overthink a lot about their schedule, workload, grades and future and have caused a lot of stress and detrimental effects on their mental health.
MindSpace is an app that combines the functions of schedule planning, mood monitoring and collective resources for relaxation and mental health. It helps users to allocate balanced time for work, study and rest, allowing them to focus on one task at a time. It also helps them to record and understand the triggers of their emotions in relation to their daily activities and also to learn how to relax their minds.
Simpson Wan, McDonald's Self Ordering Kiosk UI Redesign
This UI redesign project tackles the challenge of improving the usability of McDonald's Self Ordering Kiosk. Through user research, it was evident that users needs a more intuitive way to browse, select, and compare menu items.
The redesigned UI aims to enhance user experience by providing intuitive navigation, clear information presentation, and a visual style that aligns with McDonald's brand identity. The new design places an emphasis on highlighting item prices and information, ensuring users are well-informed throughout the ordering process. It also offers a comprehensive view at the menu page, enabling users to effortlessly browse and review their selected items simultaneously.
Simpson Wan, 'Squirrel Website'
The Squirrel Website is a conceptual redesign of Squirrel, a publication that was sent to students and staff featuring various design stories and resources. From our research with stakeholders, we identified a need for interactions with Squirrel's resources and more communications within the Monash design community.
As a solution, we transformed Squirrel into an interactive website where users can participate in sharing and engaging with various design projects and resources. We believe this approach has the potential to not only connect audiences and foster a community but also to engage with stakeholders outside of Monash.
This is a group project by Emily Wang, Hu Yang and Simpson Wan.
