Sidharth Partheepan

I am a Product Designer who loves to nurture solutions that are creative and speculative. Having been the kid guilty of daydreaming amidst high-school lessons, my mind constantly leaped from one fascinating thought to another. I believe that this humane ability to connect two seemingly distinct ideas is everything creativity is about. Human-centred design methodology has enabled me to let loose this inner child in me to explore and gather my most divergent thoughts. I am driven by the belief that conceptualising and realising novel solutions can profoundly impact the lives of those I design for.

Sidharth Partheepan, Reimagining Aurora

Aurora Australis (or the Southern Lights) is a natural light display where the sky lights up in brilliant hues of green and pink. But since it is brought on a whim by our nearest star, they are often tricky to predict and view. Most people in Melbourne don't get to see the Aurora right outside their windows and struggle to make much sense of the existing Aurora-tracking apps.

The goal of this project was to create a familiar tool that enabled a glimpse of this weather phenomenon.

Sidharth Partheepan, Traffic App Redesigned

The goal of the project was to create a new visual design, driven by a concept of experience and a few adjectives that the would describe the target user’s experience. For this project, with the traffic policemen in India being the target user, the concept of experience that was selected was:
‘Waterfall’, with delight, tranquility and serenity being the chosen adjectives.

Sidharth Partheepan, Designing for Empathy at Melbourne Zoo

Anthropomorphic strategies such as labelling a name, age, behavioural characteristics tend to enhance visitors ability to empathise with wildlife and thereby derive funding for conservation programs.

This project aims to build a mixed reality viewing station so as to enhance the viewer's empathy towards the zoo wildlife

Sidharth Partheepan, Smart Water App

The goal of this project was to design a smart water app that could persuade the users to achieve their drinking goals. The application features 'Puffy', a pufferfish who gets bigger and happier the more gulps the users take
