DU WANG, 'Shadows of the Golden Gate'
My graduation project is an animated title sequence introducing a crime story set in 1930s San Francisco. Based on over ten original illustrations, the piece follows two protagonists working together to uncover clues about a missing girl, ultimately leading to emotional redemption.
Each illustration was selected for its narrative function and visual appeal, helping define character traits and suggest the unfolding plot.
I emphasized the contrasting mindsets of the protagonists through storyboard composition. The sequence ends with a powerful image of the missing girl, serving as a visual climax that deepens viewer engagement.
DU WANG, 'Witch's Story'
This is a personal creative project from my graduation project. Since I like comics and storytelling, I created a short comic story video for my personal project in my graduation project: The story describes a little witch living in the forest who lives a carefree life under the care of her teacher. One day, she wanted to leave the forest to learn about the human world. When she sneaked out of the forest, she was hunted by witch hunters from human society.
DU WANG, 'Traditional Chinese dish: Squirrel fish'
This is a work I completed while studying Visual and Narrative Design. It uses a collage approach to collect craftsmanship related to traditional Chinese ingredients, and serves as an advertisement title to show in detail the development, history, and production process of Chinese cuisine.
