Zhangyunqi Yin, 《Kindred spirits》
Inspired by the quote from Anne of Green Gables, I was drawn to the word “kindred” and its emotional warmth. I imagined that kindred spirits don’t need to look alike—they simply share the same longing for love and connection. So, I created playful letter-characters, each with a soul, forming friendships and finding one another. To reflect this warmth, I used rich colors, cute designs, and a childlike font to represent joyful, colorful spirits. The animation is fun and lively, with upbeat music and rhythm-synced text. I refined the storyboard during production to better express the quote’s comforting message: we’re not alone.
Zhangyunqi Yin, '《Antarctica project》'
This animation project aims to raise awareness about Antarctic conservation by exploring two key themes: how Antarctica and the Southern Ocean regulate Earth's climate and circulation. I used a cute little penguin as the narrator to connect these topics in a fun and engaging way. With cool color tones, soft visual style, and cheerful music, I created a relaxed atmosphere to help audiences understand the ecological importance of Antarctica. Through humor and storytelling, I hope to inspire viewers to take part in protecting the Southern Ocean and our planet's fragile environment.
Zhangyunqi Yin, '《History of Roadtrip animation》'
This was a group project where we used animation to showcase the historical development of road transportation. We combined playful collage techniques with 3D animation to create a dynamic and engaging final piece. The evolution of transportation was structured along a timeline, with each scene transition reflecting changes in both time and road systems. Through creative visuals and collaboration, we brought the journey of road transport to life in a clear and entertaining way.
Zhangyunqi Yin, '《Package design for FlavorBurst 》'
This project is a toothpaste travel set for the brand Flavour Burst, inspired by its creative range of flavours. As the visual designer, I defined the brand’s visual tone, product appearance, portable packaging, poster design, and animations. I focused on highlighting the novelty of flavour and convenience of use. Using vibrant colours, playful typography, and upbeat music-driven animation, I aimed to visually convey the idea of “rich flavour meets portability.” This project challenged me to connect design with sensory experience and deliver a brand story that is both fun and functional.
Zhangyunqi Yin, '《ShowReel》'
This is my Showreel, which includes my outstanding works during my study at Monash and the wonderful memories I have of this campus over the past one and a half years. This Showreel showcases my progress in areas such as editing, shooting, animation production, special effects, and software application. As I am a person full of childlike innocence, I adopted a very cute style to create this Showreel.
Zhangyunqi Yin, '《Point of Change》'
This is a rhythmic motion graphic created for children, designed to move with music and encourage dancing. I used the circle—a shape familiar and symbolic to children—as the core element. It evolves into playful forms like flowers, gears, and waves, reflecting life, time, and movement. Colors shift with the music, enhancing the mood. The animation loops back to the beginning, symbolizing the cycle of life. This project aims to entertain young viewers while gently introducing the idea of rhythm, growth, and life's continuity through joyful visuals and sound.
