Ning Zhou
My design philosophy is that design should connect research, empathy, visual clarity, and practical systems. I hope to continue creating work that bridges digital and physical spaces, supports overlooked users, and helps people feel more confident, included, and connected in everyday environments.

Ning Zhou, “FrogFirst” APP
Frog First is a time management app for students and young professionals, designed to help users identify and prioritize their most important and challenging tasks of the day. The design uses a lightweight interface, soft color scheme, and a frog character as visual guides, integrating task lists, priority management, calendar planning, and progress feedback to help users reduce procrastination, establish a clear action rhythm, and achieve daily goals more easily.
Ning Zhou, “Designing an Inclusive Public Realm”
The design explores how participatory design can improve public spaces in urban parks, with a focus on the needs of seniors for rest, wayfinding, and continuous feedback. The final design includes modular public seating and interactive park information screens, aiming to create a more inclusive, flexible, and responsive public environment.
Ning Zhou, “Countryside Cool: Climate Participation Platform”
esigned as the Countryside Cool climate engagement platform, this website aims to guide Monash students and faculty in participating in campus climate data collection and environmental action. The website integrates a homepage, story sharing, interactive maps, activity tasks, and volunteer modules. Through clear navigation, visualized map data, activity cards, and a volunteer registration portal, it helps users quickly understand the urban heat island problem and participate in data uploading, campus activities, and community co-creation in a more intuitive and easy way.
Ning Zhou, “Inclusive Design For Urban Train Station”
This project focuses on the accessible travel experience at Melbourne's city train stations, with a particular emphasis on the seamless journey for wheelchair users, from route planning and station navigation to safe boarding. The design proposes a closed-loop system integrating mobile accessible navigation, dynamic floor signage, and platform filler devices. This helps users choose accessible routes more clearly, move independently within the station, and safely board and alight using automated assistance systems. The overall design aims to enhance autonomy, safety, and inclusivity within the train station space.
