In the online environment, young people are increasingly inclined to use online
language to express their emotions. Although Internet phrases are new, they are
slowly depriving people of the ability to express their emotions correctly. The work
uses both an app and a physical display to help people better understand emotions,
recognise the causes of their negative emotions, and thus better express them to
resolve their worries.
Gaoanqi Xu, Scrolling to Sleep
Many students keep scrolling at night even when they feel tired. They need a softer transition from phone use to rest, rather than being asked to stop immediately.Scrolling to Sleep turns late-night scrolling into a gentle wind-down ritual through reminders, ambient scenes, and a puzzle-based swipe interaction.
Gaoanqi Xu, WHAT YOU NEED
It's about problems in shopping, which comes from my real life experience, the project started with a spin-off thinking about the pitfalls of online shopping, and finally decided to think about a more unified expression of the problems people experience when shopping online and offline. Through research and questionnaires, I have learned that the shopping problems people experience can be divided into four categories, so I have selected some common products to be modified for these four problems, and created a virtual shopping website to publicize the uniqueness of these products to attract people to buy them.
Gaoanqi Xu, A BUNDLE OF APPS
A Bundle of Apps: Weather and Timer is a pair of mobile interface designs built around an original cactus mascot. Inspired by a plush toy and transformed into a playful character, the mascot brings warmth and personality to two everyday tools. The weather app presents temperature, humidity, wind, visibility and AQI through soft colours, rounded shapes and cheerful weather icons. The timer app turns a simple countdown into a more encouraging experience, using character expressions, clear actions and gentle feedback to make time-setting feel less stressful. Through consistent colour, layout and interaction, this project explores how practical apps can become friendly, emotional and enjoyable.
