I'm Junzhao Xu, an interaction designer based in Melbourne. I'm drawn to the space where logic and emotion meet—where an interface can be clear and useful, but still leave room for delight. I care about how things feel in motion: the pacing of an interaction, the small moment when something clicks. I move comfortably across a broad visual range rather than settling into a single style, and I like design that earns its feeling rather than decorating it.

Junzhao (Kyrie) Xu, AURA - Energy Protection Agent

Have you ever sat at your desk after 7 PM, opened
Figma, and just... scrolled? Not designing. Not
resting. Just stuck.

I call this "pseudo-working", and I built Aura
to address it.

Aura is an ambient AI companion for macOS that
quietly observes how you work. When it senses
your energy fading — through patterns like app-
switching and time without input — it gently
offers a lighter task instead of pushing you
through fatigue.

It's a shift from time management to energy
protection. From a tool that demands focus, to
one that notices when you've already given enough.

Junzhao (Kyrie) Xu, LUNETTE - Eyewear Configurator

LUNETTE is an interactive eyewear configurator—a prototype that lets you design a pair of premium glasses the way you'd want to: choosing frame shapes, materials, and finishes, and watching the result update in real time. The idea was to make a high-end shopping experience feel calm and considered rather than overwhelming, treating each choice as a small, satisfying moment. Built as a working prototype with AI-assisted tooling, it's a study in how careful pacing, restraint, and detail can make a digital product feel genuinely luxurious—closer to trying something on than filling out a form.

Ever tried reading a dense academic paper and given up? The MW Collective solves this. It’s a digital platform that turns heavy university research into an engaging, magazine-style reading experience.
Medium: Interactive Digital Prototype. Dimensions: Responsive Web Environment.
We designed a dual-system: a simple, form-based CMS backend for researchers to effortlessly upload their work, and a brutalist, visually striking frontend for the public. By prioritizing "Editorial Accessibility" and strong typography, we transformed intimidating academic archives into a living, highly readable digital collective that anyone can easily browse, explore, and enjoy.
