ILLEGAL UPLINK is a cyberpunk short film set in a future where personal memories can be bought, sold, and sealed by corporations. The protagonist once sold his most precious memory to pay for his daughter’s medical treatment, but she was not saved. All that remains is a white paper crane, a fragile clue to what he has lost. Driven by grief and emptiness, he uses illegal firmware to break into the corporate memory system and recover what was taken from him. Through cold industrial spaces, corporate terminals, the paper crane, and a fractured digital world, the film explores memory, loss, corporate control, and quiet resistance.
