I am Xinyue Tang, a multimedia designer and Master of Design student at Monash University. My practice spans branding, packaging, motion design, illustration, and design research. I am drawn to stories that sit between the personal and the social: cultural identity, memory, everyday behaviour, emotional experience, and speculative futures. Through visual systems, moving images, and narrative-led design, I explore how design can make complex ideas more tangible, sensitive, and engaging.

Xinyue Tang, Throne of the Golden Savannah - opening sequence

Throne of the Golden Savannah is a 50-second cinematic title sequence created with AI-generated imagery, motion design, and sound editing. Set in a fictional fantasy world, the work uses symbolic objects such as gold, weapons, candlelight, and handwritten records to suggest power, conflict, memory, and succession. Rather than showing characters directly, the sequence builds atmosphere through close-up details, slow camera movement, dramatic lighting, and textured typography. The project explores how generative AI can be used as part of a visual storytelling workflow, combining image generation, video animation, editing, and title design to create the opening mood of an imagined series.

Xinyue Tang, In-between Growth & Rot

"In-between Growth & Rot" is a 90-second video work documenting a community garden through slow-moving close-ups, ambient sound, and observational editing. The work focuses on discarded objects, painted signs, damaged fruit, soil, plants, water, bark, and fences, showing a place where decay and growth exist together. Rather than presenting sustainability as a clean or idealised image, the video looks at circularity through ordinary traces of use, neglect, repair, and natural transformation. It explores how a small local environment can reveal the quiet connection between waste, material life, and regeneration.

Xinyue Tang, MARS ONE - movie trailer

MARS ONE is a 90-second AI-generated sci-fi trailer for a fictional dystopian series. Set in a future where Earth is collapsing under dust, poverty, and political control, the story follows humanity’s desperate faith in the Mars Migration Authority. When a signal from Mars confirms the colony is still active but no human response remains, public hope turns into suspicion. Created through AI-generated reference images, cinematic prompting, and Seedance 2.0 video generation, the trailer uses surveillance feeds, institutional spaces, and restrained sound design to build tension around absence, sacrifice, and hidden truth.
