Education
Involving nursing and allied health disciplines, the ASPIRE partnership is the first of its kind at Monash University, bringing together the University and a for-purpose organisation delivering services in the community. A key focus of ASPIRE has been transforming workforce development, bringing together nursing and midwifery alongside allied health disciplines within community services. Students undertake placements directly within Each, gaining practical experience, while staff are supported to supervise, teach and contribute to academic programs.
Student placements from Monash University have increased, growing from 9 students in 2024 to 18 students placed across six disciplines at Each in 2025. Each staff gained access to professional education through Monash University, building skills in student supervision, mental health, and other skills.
Research
A key aim of the ASPIRE partnership is to increase the research output from Each and facilitate collaboration between the organisations. A joint Each Monash University Senior Research Fellow role has been implemented, and in 2025, five Each led research projects were approved by the Monash University Human Research Ethics Committee.
Two joint research grant applications were submitted and the first partnership research paper has been published: "Addressing Financial Abuse in Australian Small Businesses: The Role of Industry Stakeholders". A baseline of research interest, skills and experience as well as research outputs, including Each peer reviewed papers and conference presentations has been established. The Each Research Plan (see Outputs section below) was developed through co-design with Each staff and external stakeholders, identifying research priority areas of mental health services, chronic disease management, older adults and Each’s partnerships.
