The Diabetes Research Unit strives toward discovering what makes some people more susceptible to developing certain age-related chronic conditions.
Research spans the biological, physiological, psychological and physical and focuses on how to identify those people at greatest risk of these conditions like diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
The work of the Unit aims to tailor available public health information, therapies and treatments to those at greatest risk of these conditions, promoting a healthier longer life.
We operate the Australian National Diabetes Audit (ANDA), a clinical quality audit aiming to improve the quality of care provided to patients attending primary, secondary and tertiary health care services (diabetes centres) for management of diabetes.
