Ms Angelina Piccolo

Ms Angelina Piccolo is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences at Monash University, bringing over 20 years of experience in radiation therapy across leading institutions, including Austin Health and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Following an extensive clinical career as a radiation therapist, Ms Piccolo transitioned to academia, where she now plays a key role in shaping the next generation of practitioners. She coordinates and teaches across postgraduate programs, including the Master of Radiation Therapy and the Master of Advanced Health Care Practice.

Ms Piccolo’s connection with Monash University spans more than two decades. She began her journey in 2000 as a student in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science, in only its second year of offering, before going on to complete the Master of Radiation Therapy, as part of its inaugural cohort. This enduring connection reflects both her commitment to lifelong learning and her deep ties to the Monash community.

Her contributions to education and research have been recognised through teaching excellence initiatives, academic fellowship, and peer-reviewed publications, reflecting her commitment to advancing both practice and the human experience of healthcare.

At the heart of Ms Piccolo’s work is a passion for patient-centred care, education, and supporting others to grow — values she brings to both her teaching and her professional leadership. Her work in education is grounded in real-world clinical experience, and she is passionate about supporting students to become confident, capable, and compassionate practitioners.

Today, Ms Piccolo is proud to return to Monash not only as an educator, but as someone who once sat where today’s graduates are — reminding us all that growth often comes from stepping into uncertainty, taking chances, and embracing the opportunities that follow.
