Ms Hang Vo
After graduating from Monash University with Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Arts, Ms Vo’s deep passion for social justice and inclusion led her to work in the for-purpose sector.
Over the last 25 years she held various executive roles leading national and international services including with the Australian Red Cross, EACH Social and Community Health and Whitelion Youth. Ms Vo’s leadership roles have been informed by her many years working at the grassroots level with vulnerable young people, particularly those experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental health and resettlement.
Currently, Ms Vo is the Chief Executive Officer of Sacred Heart Mission, a non-profit organisation renowned for its innovative services supporting people experiencing deep disadvantage and homelessness, as well as advocacy to drive systems change.
Ms Vo is also the President of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and a Board Director at Respect Victoria. She recently served as Chair of the Victorian Pride Centre and a Board Director at South East Community Links.
Ms Vo also holds an Executive MBA from R.M.I.T. and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Having come to Australia as a Vietnamese refugee seeking asylum in the late 1970s, and being a member of the LGBTIQ+ community, Ms Vo has first-hand experience of dislocation and exclusion which drives her strong commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone feels welcome and accepted for who they are.
