Ms Elizabeth (Liz) Spaull
Born in country Victoria and following her lifelong dream to make a positive difference in the lives of others by becoming a nurse, Ms Elizabeth (Liz) Spaull graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Monash University in 1997. Soon after progressing to roles in clinical management and education and then over the next decade to also attain a Masters in Nursing. She is an experienced senior healthcare executive with over 15 years of experience in hospital operations with national, state and multi-site roles.
Ms Spaull also holds other postgraduate qualifications in Human Bioethics, Nursing Education and Leadership and Organisational Culture. She has previously held roles within Monash University as a lecturer, clinical facilitator and honorary clinical research fellow for the Faculty of Nursing. She is a very proud and committed member of the Monash alumni community.
Ms Spaull has advanced her leadership skills over the years in the areas of Workforce Planning and Development. She has held national multi-site roles in the Australian Private Hospital sector for over 20 years, including over a decade at the helm of Workforce Learning and Development for Australia’s largest private hospital operator, Ramsay Health Care.
For the last eight years, Ms Spaull has held the position of Director of Workforce for St John of God Health Care’s fifteen acute private hospitals and disability services throughout Australia.
At the core of Ms Spaull’s love for work is an unwavering sense of purpose to continue to serve the healthcare industry and to give back to its people - stating that “all that is good about human beings is found right at the very heart of a health care worker”.
