Ms Tuanh Nguyen OAM
Ms Tuanh Nguyen OAM is a distinguished legal, governance and risk leader whose career spans corporate law, risk management and executive leadership. Her professional journey reflects both professional excellence and a deep commitment to community impact. She is currently the Chief Legal & Risk Officer at Virtus Health, one of the world’s leading fertility services providers, where she oversees legal, risk, compliance and governance functions across operations in Australia, Europe and Asia. Her work focuses on strengthening quality, safety and ethical care within a highly regulated and deeply human industry.
A proud Monash University alumna, Ms Nguyen began her career in private practice, spending nearly two decades advising Australian and international clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and corporate governance. She has held senior roles at global legal and professional services firms, including Norton Rose Fulbright, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Baker McKenzie, and previously was a Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. Throughout her legal career, she has been recognised for her strategic insight, collaborative leadership and commitment to developing diverse talent, receiving multiple industry accolades, including as Special Counsel of the Year in the Women in Law Awards the Australian Law Awards.
Ms Nguyen is also a recognised advisor and advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), with a longstanding commitment to advancing cultural diversity within Australia’s professional services and corporate sectors. She has supported organisations to embed DEI principles into their culture, leadership frameworks and operating models, enabling stronger performance, improved decision-making and more inclusive workplaces. Her leadership in this field was nationally acknowledged when she was named one of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian Australians in 2020.
Her transition from private practice to executive leadership was driven by a desire to combine legal expertise with purpose-led organisational impact. Beyond her executive role, Ms Nguyen serves on several not-for-profit and cultural boards including BirdLife Australia, CatholicCare Victoria,the Vietnamese Museum Australia, and the Asian Australian Foundation. She is also an Advisory Committee Member for Asia Society Australia and a Patron of the Vietnamese Australian Professional Network. Ms Nguyen contributes to strengthening governance, supporting vulnerable communities, celebrating cultural identity and advancing meaningful social impact
In 2024, Ms Nguyen was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her service to the community through governance and advocacy. This recognition reflects not only her professional contributions, but also her commitment to using her skills to serve people and communities — and to creating spaces where diverse voices and lived experiences are recognised, valued and empowered.
