Adjunct Professor The Honourable Chris Pearce
Adjunct Professor The Honourable Chris Pearce is a highly respected non-executive director, independent adviser, and business leader with over 35 years of senior executive leadership experience across the government/public sector, information technology, telecommunications, and music sectors. He is the Managing Director of Pearce Advisory, a boutique consultancy that provides strategic advice and solutions to clients in the government, not-for-profit, and private sectors. Professor Pearce's key areas of expertise are in strategy development and execution, leadership and management development, stakeholder and engagement management, board and senior management governance and regulation oversight and business growth initiatives.
Professor Pearce has a rare combination of success and achievement at the highest levels in both commercial and public sectors. He served as a Federal Member of Parliament for almost a decade, including a term in the Federal Ministry as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, where he had regulatory oversight responsibilities for corporate law, foreign investment, financial services, and other portfolio responsibilities, including consumer and competition regulation and financial/auditing reporting standards. He has developed and acquired high-level literacy and knowledge of technology and digital transformation capabilities, including cyber security, artificial intelligence, mobility, and enterprise solutions. He strongly advocates and believes in the power of technology and education to improve human existence.
Professor Pearce’s formal education includes a Management Development Process Program (Monash Mt Eliza Business School), a Bachelor of Business (Monash University), a Master of Business Administration (Deakin University), an Executive Program – Strategy & Organisation (Stanford University), a Graduate Certificate in Divinity (University of Divinity) and a Graduate Certificate in Positive Psychology (Central Queensland University). He is presently a Candidate Researcher studying for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Utrecht University, Netherlands.
Professor Pearce is an Adjunct Professor at the Deakin University Business School, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, and a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute. He also holds board and advisory positions in various organisations, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research and the McKinnon Institute for Political Leadership.
