Mr Argiri Alisandratos

Mr Argiri Alisandratos serves as the Deputy Secretary for Disability, Complex Needs and Emergency Management in the Victorian Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing. With over 30 years of dedicated service, Mr Alisandratos' journey began as a child protection practitioner after completing his Bachelor of Social Work Degree at Monash University. Since then, he has held several senior leadership positions within the department, driving transformative changes and shaping its strategic direction.

Mr Alisandratos' recent roles includes Deputy Secretary, Children and Families Reform where he spearheaded critical reforms aimed at enhancing child and family services across the state, Deputy Secretary, South Division where he played a pivotal role in streamlining operations and ensuring effective service delivery across four service delivery areas in the southeast of the state and Chief Operations Transformation Officer where his leadership was instrumental in driving efficiency and innovation within the department.

Under Mr Alisandratos' guidance, the department embarked on significant reforms, particularly in child and family services, driving the Victorian Government’s Roadmap for Reform: Strong Families, Safe Children.

Additionally, he has championed disability inclusion, working closely on the implementation of a range of programs and innovations including Inclusive Victoria: state disability plan (2022 – 2026), shaped by the lived experience of Victorians with disability and aimed at breaking down the barriers that limit people with disability from fully participating in all aspects of our community.

Notably, Mr Alisandratos served as Associate Secretary from August 2022 to June 2023, contributing to the department’s overall vision. In July 2023, he resumed his role as Deputy Secretary, focusing on disability, complex needs and emergency management.

Mr Alisandratos' educational background includes a Bachelor of Social Work and an Executive Master of Public Administration from Monash University.
