Mr Matt Tilley
Mr Matt Tilley was one of Australia's most respected radio personalities with more than 20 successful years on air, before turning his longtime curiosities and dalliances with the charity sector into an executive career.
Now, Mr Tilley is CEO of FightMND, founded by the late Neale Daniher AO. Mr Tilley leads FightMND’s mission raising awareness, funding vital research to improve the lives of people living with the disease today, and accelerating the search for a cure.
Mr Tilley began studying a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law at Monash University in 1988. During this time, he was distracted by turning a significant amount of his energy towards building a career in commercial radio – leading him to delay graduation from his law degree until 1997.
Mr Tilley’s Melbourne breakfast shows consistently reached number one for over 14 of his 20 years in breakfast radio. While in radio, he produced several prank phone call CDs that generated over $500,000 in funds for Melbourne-based hospitals and community organisations.
Through using his profile for good, the door was opened to several remarkable organisations that were principally designed to help people. In 2018, Mr Tilley set up the Aussie Dollar Drop, putting into practice his learnings Diploma of Governance from the Institute of Community Directors. Aussie Dollar Drop raised over $250,000 for key Victorian homelessness services.
From there he became Chief Communications Officer of food relief organisation Foodbank, before becoming CEO of FightMND, home of the Big Freeze, in 2024.
