Ms Kathleen Yeung
Kathleen leads Corporate Development for Qualitas Limited, an ASX-listed alternative real estate investment manager and is a member of the executive leadership team. She is responsible for the planning and execution of strategic projects, group investor relations and listed product strategy. She also has responsibility for ESG activity and is a member of Qualitas’ external facing ESG Advisory Group.
She has over 25 years of experience in financial services predominantly in real estate and infrastructure, across a variety of roles from transaction advisory, principal investment and raising capital in the public and private markets. Previously, Kathleen worked in Babcock & Brown’s Infrastructure Group focused on the development, acquisition and financing of renewable energy and power projects, and worked at PwC, Deutsche Bank and KPMG.
A key theme across all her roles is innovation. Kathleen was part of the team that won global recognition for a portfolio financing of renewable energy projects across Australia, Europe and the US, winning Project Finance International’s ‘Deal of the Year’. More recently, she led the development and listing of Australia’s first, and currently only, pure play commercial real estate credit fund on the ASX, with Money Management awarding Kathleen ‘Funds Management Executive of the Year, Women in Financial Services Awards, 2018’.
Kathleen values authenticity, teamwork and transparency and encourages her team to actively drive improvement and share ideas. She expects high performance and thrives on being challenged. As a mother, she encourages her children to share their views and be open and respectful in hearing opposing views, which she believes is critical to navigating work and life.
Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Economics (Finance and Accounting, Econometrics) from Monash University and a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School. She is a Member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Property Industry Foundation (Victoria) which is focused on alleviating youth homelessness.
She lives in Melbourne with her husband, three children, their dog and two rabbits.
