Adjunct Associate Professor Kelly Rogerson
Adjunct Associate Professor Kelly Rogerson commenced her nursing career as a State Enrolled Nurse in Gippsland, Victoria, before completing her Bachelor of Nursing at Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Intensive Care Nursing. She thrived in clinical practice and went on to hold several Nurse Manager positions at Dandenong Hospital, later playing a key role in commissioning Casey Hospital in 2004.
Her career has spanned both hospital and community settings, where she developed a passion for creating local solutions to complex health challenges. With a strong focus on clinical practice, quality, and safety, Associate Professor Rogerson has worked in hospital improvement roles and has been an Assessor with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards since 2012.
She completed a Master of Nursing and a Master of Business Administration and has led statewide programs as Director of Nursing and Operations at DonateLife Victoria, as well as serving as Director of Nursing at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital. At Monash Health, she was General Manager of Specialty Medicine, Cancer and Critical Care, overseeing services at Moorabbin and Casey Hospitals.
Currently, Associate Professor Rogerson is the Chief Executive Officer of Palliative Care South East, where she leads services that engage and support her local community in promoting quality end-of-life care. She also contributes her expertise in governance and education as Board Chair of Palliative Care Victoria, and as an Adjunct in the Monash School of Nursing and Midwifery. In addition, she teaches into the Transition to Specialty Practice Program with the Australian College of Nursing and runs a business supporting medicolegal evaluations related to standards of clinical care.
Associate Professor Rogerson’s career reflects her deep commitment to leadership, education, and innovation in nursing always grounded in her belief in the power of kindness, community and compassionate care.
