Mr Chris Andrews is the Chief Executive Officer of La Trobe Financial, one of Australia’s leading alternative asset managers with over $20 billion in assets under management and a bold vision to grow to $55 billion by 2030. With more than two decades of experience in corporate Australia, Mr Andrews brings a rare blend of strategic clarity, operational excellence, and people-first leadership to one of the country’s most dynamic financial institutions.
He began his career in law, holding degrees in Commerce and Law (Honours) from Monash University. Mr Andrews joined La Trobe Financial in 2006 from a top-tier commercial law firm as Senior Legal Counsel. From 2009 to 2022, he served as Chief Investment Officer, leading the firm’s Asset Management business through a period of significant growth and innovation.
Since his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in 2022, Mr Andrews has spearheaded
La Trobe Financial’s transformation into a modern, technology-enabled asset manager with a global outlook. His leadership is defined by a sharp focus on customer service, business performance, capital management, technology uplift, risk governance, and a high-performance culture. He has built a market-leading executive team and positioned the firm at the forefront of private credit and income-focused investment strategies.

He is also leading the firm’s expansion into real estate and infrastructure strategies, positioning La Trobe Financial as a cornerstone of diversified income solutions for Australian and global investors.
