Tony Johnson

Tony Johnson is a Director and Adviser with a proven record as a senior executive and business leader.

Following graduation from Monash University Tony commenced his career with EY, became a Partner and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EY in Oceania, a member of EY’s Asia Pacific Operating Executive and EY’s Global Practice Group.

Tony successfully led a purposeful and inclusive firm of over 600 partners and 9,000 people providing over A$2.3billion of assurance, tax, transaction, strategy, technology and business consulting services across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

Prior to being appointed CEO Tony was the Regional Managing Partner for EY’s Financial Services business across Asia Pacific and before that the Managing Partner of the Assurance business in Oceania.

Tony’s career combined leadership roles within EY with successfully leading client account teams. He has broad industry experience - primarily focused on the financial services sector locally and internationally delivering strategic, operational, transaction, governance, assurance, risk, due diligence and regulatory reviews and services.

Tony is an accessible and authentic leader passionate about creating an environment and culture that encourages all people to focus on their development to achieve their full potential, particularly as leaders. He was formerly a member of the Champions of Change Coalition, the Leadership Council on Cultural Diversity, BCA Economic Policy and Competitiveness Committee and the Business Advisory Board of Monash Business School.

Tony is currently a Director of Bupa ANZ and E&P Financial, Advisory Board member of Fujitsu Australia (Chair) and Kieser Australia. Board Member of the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN), member of The Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation Committee, 30% Club Education Working Group, Mannix College Foundation Council, Executive Committee of UNSW Business Advisory Council and Business School Alumni Leader and mentor to business founder's, CEO's and C-suite executives.

Tony has a Bachelor of Economics, Master of Business Administration (Executive), Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment, Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and a Fellow of FINSIA.
