Ms Claire Ferres Miles is a values-driven optimistic leader with curiosity for reform and lifelong learning.

As Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair, Ms Ferres Miles leadership is one of enquiry, asking questions to enhance governance, culture and performance. She is currently Chair of Jobsbank, dedicated to social procurement and inclusive workplaces, and Chair of Place Leaders Asia Pacific, focused on the creation and stewardship of successful public places.

Throughout Ms Ferres Miles she has delivered remarkable outcomes in partnership and with purpose with services and projects that demonstrate a new economic paradigm of regenerative circular growth, delivering prosperity for people and prosperity for the planet.

She has held positions as Chief Executive Officer of Sustainability Victoria and Interim Chief Executive Officer of the City of Melbourne, with executive roles in State and Local Government, Transport for London and the private sector in sustainability, transport, infrastructure, city planning and place, business development and community engagement. She is currently Managing Director of Curiosity Co, a strategic advisory business.

She has a Bachelor of Planning & Design with majors in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design (University of Oregon/The University of Melbourne, 1992), Master of Transport (Monash University, 2010), Master of Traffic (Monash University, 2011), Foundations in Public Participation (IAP2, 2016), Graduate of the Australian Company Directors Course (AICD, 2017), Graduate of Integrity and Ethical Leadership Program (IPAA ,2019) and Graduate of Pathways to Politics (The University of Melbourne, 2021).

Ms Ferres Miles is a community activist and community connector, with decades of volunteering as President of Selby Primary School Council, Upwey Toy Library and Sherbrooke Children’s Centre, Co-Founder of Voices of Casey and Founder of Casey for YES. She knows that public policy is better when we listen to the diverse views, knowledge, insights and experiences of the community.

In 2022 was the Community Independent candidate for the federal electorate of Casey with a policy focus on accelerated climate action, integrity and equity - a values-led community campaign of 230 volunteers.

Ms Ferres Miles has been recognised as the Department of Civil Engineering Alumnus of the Year (2023), Victorian Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration (2019), Top 50 Women in the Victorian Public Sector (2017), Shire of Yarra Ranges Volunteer Award (2012), Women in Transport Scholar (2008) and Rotary Youth Leadership Award (1994).

Ms Ferres Miles has lived in the Dandenong Ranges for 25 years with her husband, five children and a dog.
